Following the reprehensible event in one of its stores on April 12 in Philadelphia, Starbucks announced it will close more than 8,000 company-owned stores in the United States on May 29 to conduct racial-bias training for all partners (employees).

The basis for the call to that led to the arrest of two men in a Philadelphia Starbucks was wrong and it should never have been made, wrote ceo Kevin Johnson in an open letter apologizing to customers and partners.
We apologize to the two individuals and our customers and are disappointed this led to an arrest.
Our customer’s privacy is incredibly important to us and we regularly evaluate all policies to make sure we’re protecting their best interest.
Starbucks will offer a series of new benefits, including paid sick time for retail partners, paid parental leave expanded to non-birth parents, a wage increase and more. These offerings will total more than $250 million for more than 150,000 partners.
