Jason is senior vice president and chief operating officer of Starbucks Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He is responsible for all aspects of the brand’s retail operations across the 2,750 stores and 41 countries that comprise the company’s EMEA business, as well as Starbucks relationships with its many licensed operators in the region. Since joining Starbucks in the summer of 2016, he has worked to revolutionize the company’s regional retail strategy, bringing a centralized, rigorous and partner-first approach – all with a keen eye toward delivering a consistent, elevated Starbucks Experience to customers in EMEA.
Prior to this role, Jason was vice president, Licensed Operations EMEA, where he supported Starbucks regional licensee partners and drove operational excellence across all Starbucks licensed retail formats. During that time, he developed a deep understanding of Starbucks potential as a world-class licensor, a concept that remains central to his vision in growing the retail business in EMEA.
Jason joined Starbucks from Nike, where he most recently served as vice president and general manager of Europe, responsible for all Nike Stores, Nike Factory Stores and franchised stores. At Nike he also was responsible for developing and launching the Nike.com digital business for Europe. Jason has a wealth of international retail experience, leading teams across geographies and sectors during stints with The Body Shop and Marks & Spencer. He began his retail career at Gap Inc., opening the company’s first stores in the UK while working with retail legend, Mickey Drexler.
Jason, who was born in Ireland, now lives in London with his partner and their dachshund. His favourite coffee is Pike Place, brewed in a coffee press.
