TOKYO, July 14, 2010 – Starbucks Coffee Japan today announced the launch of Starbucks VIA® Coffee Essence Iced Coffee as an exclusive, limited time offer at Starbucks stores across Japan. Joining the other varieties of Starbucks VIA® Coffee Essence in Japan, the premium soluble coffee stick product was specially designed to dissolve in cold water and ice.
Starbucks VIA® Coffee Essence Iced Coffee is made using 100 percent arabica beans that deliver the same high quality flavor customers expect from a cup of Starbucks® iced coffee. After 20 years in development, Starbucks introduced Starbucks VIA® Coffee Essence in Japan in April 2010 following a successful launch in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. Since the April launch, it has become a popular and convenient product for coffee drinkers in Japan looking to enjoy Starbucks quality coffee anytime and anywhere. The iced version is a perfect, thirst quenching option for the hot Japan summer.
Starbucks VIA® Coffee Essence Iced Coffee is made using a U.S. patent pending, proprietary process that allows the coffee to dissolve quickly in cold water and does not require equipment or time for coffee to cool.
Starbucks VIA® Coffee Essence was Starbucks first premium coffee stick product in Japan, where more than 60 percent of total coffee sold is soluble. The new iced version is the latest innovation in Starbucks increasingly popular Starbucks VIA® Coffee Essence line.
