Mar 02, 2010 Starbucks Named One of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens Starbucks was named to Corporate Responsibility Magazine’s list of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens for 2010. This recognition validates Starbucks continued progress in the areas of ethical sourcing, environmental stewardship, community involvement, partner relations, human rights, governance and financial performance. This is the tenth time Starbucks has been included in this list. Starbucks moved up in the ranking this year to 52 from 65 in 2009. “We are honored to be recognized by Corporate Responsibility Magazine again this year for our enduring commitment to responsible business practices,” said Ben Packard, vice president of global responsibility for Starbucks. “Even during the tough economic climate of the past two years, Starbucks has remained steadfastly committed to improving the lives of coffee farmers, reducing our environmental impact and giving back to our communities.” The 100 Best Corporate Citizens List is based on more than 360 data points of publicly-available information in seven categories. The seven categories include: Environment, Climate Change, Human Rights, Philanthropy, Employee Relations, Financial Performance and Governance.
