Oct 30, 2012 Starbucks Response to Hurricane Sandy Our thoughts and hearts are with our customers, partners (employees) and the communities impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Sandy during these past few days. We understand that Starbucks is a gathering place for the community and we are working diligently to resume operations in our impacted stores as quickly as possible; however the safety and well-being of our partners and customers is of most concern to us. As the storm continues inland, regions of the East Coast continue to manage significant weather-related challenges including flooding, wind damage, power outages, and in some cases heavy snow. We are closely monitoring the situation and working with local authorities as we remain focused on continuing to reopen locations over the coming days. We are also reaching out to affected partners to ensure their well-being and provide support during this challenging time. We continue to evaluate where we can make the most sustainable and relevant contribution to those impacted by Hurricane Sandy, and will share additional information as it becomes available. Again, our heartfelt condolences to those impacted by this storm.
